Unit 14 Reading Activities Plus Questions

Ice Battle

Coach Riley:
Today, we begin with a quick Faceoff at center ice. The Puck is dropped, and the game is on.

Player Sam:
Our Stick is our lifeline. I always protect the Goal when I see a fast Slap shot.

Coach Riley:
Remember, a solid Skate helps you move around the Rink and avoid penalties. Be wary of an Offside call and keep your head in the game.

Player Sam:
I try to use a smart Deke in a Breakaway and hope for an Assist or even a Hat-trick.

Coach Riley:
When a Penalty occurs, use the Power play to your advantage, and if necessary, take a Penalty shot. Don’t forget, even Icing or a quick Check can change the momentum.
